No Makeup Makeup

what you need to get a flawless face, while looking like you have nothing on.

Brush-Beauty-Flawless-Skin

I grew up reading Archie Comic Books.  My grandmother would pick me up every other Friday from school, we would make our way from Manhattan over the GW Bridge to Jersey and head straight to the comic book store where should would let me get two Archie comic books. Of course I’d try and get the Double Digests, so I could get the biggest bang for her buck.  There was always one comic that stood out to me.  OF COURSE Archie was fawning over Veronica and Betty over Archie, but it was a story where Archie went to Betty’s house directly after she got out of the shower and had no makeup on whatsoever.  He went CRAZY!  He was totally entranced by Betty and how perfect she looked fresh, with no makeup.  He immediately canceled his date with Veronica and told Betty he would pick her up later that day for the date of her life! #naturalbeautywin

Archie-Betty-BrushbeautyNow, we aren’t all living in a Archie comic book – fine, none of us are- nor do we have the flawless young skin we did in High School, but we can easily make it look like we do.  It is really just bringing out your natural features – enhancing your natural beauty, evening out the skin tone and adding in the perfect amount of color.

What you need/What I use:

A Great Hydrating Moisturizer:

Personally, I always use Embryolisse Hydra-Mat.  You want a nice, moisturizer that will feed your skin and plump it up a bit while leaving the perfect base for your foundation.

A Build-able Cream or Liquid Foundation

Texture foundation creamWhen people hear the word cream foundation, they think heavy makeup and lots of people think the same with liquid too.  But, it doesn’t have the be that way at all.  Use it sparingly, just where needed and you will have yourself the perfect, flawless coverage.  You don’t need foundation all over your face – you just need to be sure you’re using a color that matches your skin tone and then you just need to spot cover the needed areas. Take out the red in your cheeks and skin (you will build it back in later), cover any unwanted blemishes and make sure you are evening out your skin tone.

Cream Blush

Le-Metier-De-Beaute-Brush-BeautyOne of the utmost important components in wanting a natural and fresh look.  Using cream on cream or cream on liquid will give you a beautiful, clean and natural glow while adding the perfect amount of color to your cheeks.  It’s when you start packing  powder on top of cream that it begins to look heavy and a little cakey.

The Beauty Blender

originalbeautyblender-brushbeautyThis beautiful, bright egg shaped sponge can turn an everyday application into a flawless professional looking one.  As opposed to most sponges on the market that oddly repel water, this sponge soaks water in helping push the makeup out.  You will want to use this sponge lightly damp – NOT WET.  If using liquid foundation, apply it to the necessary areas with a brush and then roll (with a quick flick of your wrist) the Beauty Blender over evening the foundation out perfectly.  If using cream foundation, you can apply it directly with the blender.

And, there you have it.  Archie would be madly in love with you and ditch Veronica like it was nothing… and the you’d say gross, no thanks.  Bye.
