Makeup How To: Jennifer Lopez at the Golden Globes
Last night the Red Carpet for the Golden Globe was hot. The styling, the hair, the makeup – they were all incredible.
But, since I started doing makeup, I’ve been asked about J Lo’s flawless look, and since she looked SO incredible last night, I decided to give a quick how to.
Prep your face.
Tone and Moisturize.
Personally, I would use Heir Attelier Makeup Prep. This product to the stars, is an incredible moisturizer and primer all in one. It is a light weight, beautiful smelling prep that gets you on your way to a flawless looking complexion.
Concealer
J-Lo loves that under eye highlight. Take a concealer a few shades lighter than your skin tone and and start with under your eye. Bring it down lightly almost making a triangle with the coverage (you will blend this out later). I also like AJ Crimson’s Banana Cream mixed with your foundation as a concealer.
Foundation
Use a medium to full coverage foundation. Make sure to use something that is easily buildable like Make Up For Ever’s HD liquid foundation. Use a foundation brush to apply it all over the face and then take a beauty blender to blend it together
Contour
Take a matte bronzer and contour lightly under your your cheekbone creating a very light hollow.
Highlight
We all know JLO loves highlighter. Take a highlighter and apply it to the top part of your cheek bones, down the center of your nose and on your cupid’s bow.
Eyes
Prime your lid. I like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion.
Take a golden shimmer color and all over the lid. I love the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in Bette. It has a stunning shimmer and is beautifully buildable. Next take a tan brown color to contour the eye, blending deeply. Take a highlight color and apply to the inner corner of the eye.
Liner
Create a very thin line directly at your lash line. This will create the illusion of much thicker lashes.
Lashes
Personally, I would take my lash curler, curl my lashes and put 3-4 coats of mascara on. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara does wonders for volume and length.
Brows
JLo’s makeup artist went a few shades lighter than her hair, giving her an ashy brown brow, which looks stunning on her. Take a brow powder and an angle brush. You can outline the shape that you like and then fill it in, or you can just fill your brows where needed.
Lips
Those beautiful and perfect lips.
Use a wax pencil to line the outter lip line. I love OCC’s Anti-Feathered Clear Primer Pencil. This ensures that your lipstick won’t bleed out of your lip liner. Next line your lips with a deep red color and fill your lip in with the same pencil. Next, find your perfect satin red and apply. Once that is done, add a light, clear gloss to the center of the lip and voila your JLo look is done.
JULIA TIP!
When putting on a lipstick, line your lips and fill them in with a pencil first. This will give your lipstick something to stick to and will make it last longer.
