Charlotte Tilbury, Magic Everything
I have been following makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury for as long as I can remember. I was always enamored by her work and it got to a point where I could look at someone and say, I bet you Charlotte Tilbury did that makeup. The clean and incredible beauty, the luminous skin, the way that she could so subtly bring out the most beautiful subtle feature and make it spectacular. It is one of the reasons I focused so strongly on skin and why I am now hired often because of the beautiful natural looking skin I help create.
Now, a lot of the work that Charlotte Tilbury does is adding an exceptional eye to her work. She can add a pop of color so beautifully, it looks like a strategical masterpiece, but I am sure it is just an incredible second nature.
When she came out with her makeup line, I was beside myself with excitement and when I was lucky enough to have them send me some of her line – as all amazing pieces – it went directly into my kit (after I spent a few hours playing with it, of course).
I was so graciously gifted, two of her Beach Sticks, two of her Luxury Eye shadow Palettes and her incredibly sought after Filmstar Killer Cheekbones duo.
It is no question why so many of these products are called “Magic” they just simply are. The beach sticks – which is to be used on both the cheek and the lip – give such a stunning subtle (and buildable) cheek color that sit so beautifully on the cheek. It is easiest to apply it straight on (instead of using your fingers), and it has a lightly dewy quality – which is exactly what I want when looking for a cream blush. As a lip color, the color is muted, but beautiful.
The Eyeshadow Quads have the most beautiful finish I have seen in a long time. I have become very much in love with the Tom Ford shadows, but these are definitely giving them a run for their money. The texture that it gives the eye is exquisite and I love the color combinations in the quads as well as mixing quads together.
I may as well walk away before I even start discussing the Filmstar Killer Cheekbone duo, not because I don’t want to talk about it, but because there aren’t enough amazing words in my vocab to say how into this I am. I am a big cream highlight/contour gal (& we all know I use the word contour gently), so I was a little hesitant when seeing this. But I heard Lottie say she was obsessed and if Lottie says something is amazing, I tend to trust that because I really love most of the products that she uses. So, try I did and I was in love! Truly. This product is exceptional. The highlight is just stunning. If you are not used to using a product like this in general, I would say this is an exceptional one to start out with, simply because it is so beautifully build-able.
Anyhow, again, I cannot thank the Charlotte Tilbury world enough for their amazing gift and everyone should know, I get sent a lot of things, but I ONLY post about them if I love them.
The Magic Foundation just came out and I am SO excited to try that. It seems like it may be a perfect new addition to my kit.
xx
